Designs by players, for game designers

Welcome to the Piecing Together Performance Project! This website presents material, sketches, and principles created by diverse players as part of a study facilitated by Dr. Daniel Gardner at Chapman University (though he is now based at Robert Gordon University). This study encouraged participants to explore how they envisioned more inclusive character configuration and interface designs for video game avatars. We hope these sketches inspire and motivate game developers to adopt and expand upon these ideas and welcome all players, scholars, designers, advocates, and many others to explore this theme in future video game development, or in the development of anywhere where virtual bodies are put into play.
